Confirm Your SAWS Case Number
There are three possibilities: 1) take a water education course, 2) request more information on your violation via phone or email. 3) If no action is taken, a one-time, non-compliance fee will be added to your water bill.
If you choose to take the course, the account holder, or another responsible party over the age of 18 at the home must take the course to have the first non-compliance charge waived.
You must complete the course by the 21-day deadline listed in your notification email/letter. While we expect the course can be completed in an hour, please allow at least an hour and a half. You can pause at any time and resume the course later at the same point as long as it is completed by the 21-day deadline. Login at watersaverclasses.saws.org.
Yes, you must complete the entire course to have the first, one-time non-compliance charge waived. You will receive an email notification of your course completion.
An 80% passing grade is required on the quizzes. Quizzes may be retaken. You will be notified by email at the end of the course.
After the first non-compliance charge is waived for residential customers who have completed the course, customers will be charged with a second violation charge on their SAWS bill.
Depending on the number of violations incurred by the customer as repeated non-compliance with the rules, all future violations are subject to increasing non-compliance charges.
You will not be eligible to take the course for any citation that was issued before July 6, 2024. Residential customers will be eligible to have the first non-compliance charge waived for violations issued on or after this date - even if they have received a citation before July 6, 2024.
Yes, customers with watering rules violations are eligible for SAWS conservation programs. Please call us at 210-704-SAVE (7283) to schedule a visit with one of our licensed irrigators or for more information about our programs.
No, the opportunity to waive the first one-time non-compliance charge is only available to residential customers who are not builders or rental management companies.
